Festivals

Anthony the Great

The festival of Anthony the Great, which takes place in January, is notable for the "matxà" or procession of horses that travels through the various streets of the town until reaching square of the Font, where the main bonfire is lit and rolls are distributed.

Saint Michael the Archangel

The festival of Saint Michael the Archangel is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It involves a pilgrimage to the hermitage of Saint Michael where the patron saint of the locality is venerated. There, a mass is held and a potluck lunch is shared among attendees. On the return journey from the hermitage, a procession of the crosses takes place, with children participating by carrying crosses made of heather. In the evening, the procession of the "borratxos" (drunkards) occurs, where there is a meeting at Large Rock between Saint Michael and the Brotherhood of the Christ of the Blood.

The patron saint festivals

The patron saint festivals in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption and the Christ of the Blood take place in mid-August. A wide variety of activities are held including exhibitions, concerts, sports activities, bullfighting in the streets, and evening festivities. Among all these, the Serenata al Bou (Serenade to the Bull) stands out.

Saint Michael of "Veremes"

The festival of Saint Michael of "Veremes" takes place on September 29th. It is dedicated to our patron saint, Saint Michael, and coincides with the grape harvest season (verema), which was a significant activity in the locality during the second half of the 20th century. Various events are held during the festival including excursions, meals, religious celebrations, and more.
